Today I had two more of my classes, both International Marketing and Financial Markets and Institutions. In the beginning of my International Marketing class the Professor was talking all about different cultures and how they differ. I did like how he told many stores and had a lot of photos. He is Chinese and definetly had nothing bad to say about the Chinese. I would say the first twenty minutes was a lecture on how amazing China is..'Chinese are more creative, they think outside of the box, they are friendly and want to network, etc.' Then came the bashing of the Americans. Many photos came up making fun of various American stuff like Bush, obese people, and some others I cannot remember. He told us a quote after, "What do you call someone who speaks three languages...trilingual...what do you call someone who speaks two languages...bilingual...what do you call someone who speaks one language...American. The British thought this was quite hilarious.
I am still trying to figure out what exactly the UK thinks about America. So many things they look up to and try to model. They use a TON of our companies products...and yet they hate us at the same time. I really don't know. I know that after being in the UK for only two weeks I am very proud to be American and have noticed that I definetly take a lot for granted. I really have enjoyed my time here but there are a lot of things that are missing such as freedom of speech, right to self defense, good service and I do miss the loud and friendly American. Overall the British are very nice to me but they do tend to be more reserved and timid to joke around with me.
I tried the raisin cake with custard tonight and really really didn't like it....I don't think custard is my thing. But for dinner I had salad and turkey with gravy and surprisingly the meat was tasty!
The weather has been bad since yesterday today being a little worse. It's raining right now and its just cold, damp and windy. I do use my umbrella but sometimes there is no point because the rain comes in all directions. My windbreaker has come in handy.
So far all my exams are going to be essays which is really awesome! The essays are to be like 2000-2500 words which isn't too long and they are to be submitted mid to end of January. I am not so sure how I feel about that because I don't want to be writing essays during the Caribbean or during school...I may start in December and try and finish them beforehand.
Thats all for now. I am going to head to the gym, do some reading, plan for some trips and tomorrow is Retail Marketing.

A Cafeteria FlowChart
So I have decided that I need a flowchart that tells me what I can and cannot eat in the cafeteria. The cafeteria ladies are much like the stereotypical kind you imagine...they scoop your food and slap it, scoop, slap onto the plate. They are very loud and are screaming at us the whole time. When I first arrived it was you could have whatever you wanted but no seconds. Then a rule came to be that you could have one cup of juice or one piece of fruit...ok odd but not too obscure. Then a new rule came that you could have a hot option (which is the meal) or you could have one small bowl of salad...BUT NOT BOTH! Ok that is fusterating because the salad bowl is tiny!!! Today I got one small salad bowl, a piece of fruit and a piece of cake. The lunch lady follows me all the way to the back of the cafeteria and says 'Nope the rule is either one piece of fruit or one sweet..which is it?' And then she takes my apple from the tray. HOW RIDICULOUS IS THAT??? How is a piece of fruit and a piece of cake remotely the same??? Like I said I need a flowcart.
Last night I went to the Curry Mile with Helen for dinner..everyone says that you need to go at least once. We ate at a restaurant called Al Bilal and it was half Thai and half Indian. I had the Thai fried rice noodles and they were okay but no one hear knows what Phad Thai is which just kills me. After that we went and got ice cream...mint chocolate chip mmmmm.
Today I experienced my first UK rain it was soooo insane. It went from a little bit gloomy weather to a quick rain to pouring as fast as possible. It really is a good idea to wait inside a building for like fifteen minutes if its raining because the rain sometimes stops for a few then picks up again here. I had an umbrella but it didnt do much. My jeans and new boots were soaked from the knees down and the rain got in my school bag too. BOOO
Also today was my first day of class...I only had Operations Management and it seems pretty easy. Most of the students are second years and the assessment is over two poster presentations and one group paper. WOW! no exam, no homework, two readings per week. I think I can handle that. Although this semesters theme is Greater Manchester Transportation Solving and I don't know much about anything in Greater Manchester outside of Oxford Road.
Tomorrow I have class for five hours eww. I will have International Marketing, an International Marketing Seminar and Financial Markets and Institutions. I bought a gym membership here for 150 dollars and it is soooo small! It definetly is a rip off compared to UW's IMA but at least I won't surprise you all when I come back and I'm four hundred pounds :)
I booked my flight to Ireland with my Boston friends for Oct 8th and I am extremely excited! This weekend is my trip to Wales to see two castles and the game ManCity vs. Liverpool! I was told if I was wearing the opposing teams colors I would be escorted out of the stadium...they were dead serious.

Stratford-upon-Avon
The Shakespeare Statue surrounded by four of his characters. If you click on my photo you can see sets on the right hand side of my Stratford-upon-Avon trip and just around Manchester.
Stratford-upon-Avon
Yesterday I went to Shakespeare's hometown with the International Society. It really has been a great investment becoming a part of the Society for only 10 pounds because every weekend they have weekend trips all over the UK and they all are set at really cheap prices. In Stratford I was able to go to the house where Shakespeare was born, New Place, the Nash House, the Harvard House and Hall's Croft.
Shakespeare's Birthplace:
This was fun to see the actual place where he was born. It almost freaked me out a little bit that I was standing in the very house and the very room where he was born! The house is on Henley Street right in the middle of shops and restaurants. The rooms were very tiny and this house was supposedly a very wealthy house. One of the rooms was no bigger than my bedroom and it was the room where Shakespeare's sister lived with seven others.
Nash House:
This was Shakespeare's grandaughter's house...which was the neighbor of New Place...which is the house that Shakespeare bought with his wife Anne Hathaway. When Shakespeare died a complete jerk bought it and tore it down so now it is just some archways, sculptures and a garden in the remains.
The Harvard House:
One of the sons that grew up in this house started Harvard University. All over the house is Harvard objects and information. The toliet was gross...it was a box with a removable bowl in it.
Hall's Croft:
This was Shakespeare's sisters home. Her husband was the town's doctor and one of the things he specialized in was pee testing...or testing of the waters as he called it. When someone was sick they would get a urine test and smell, look at the color and TASTE IT!!! SOOO gross! As gross as that is I guess he did draw some connections because pee would taste really sweet when someone had diabetes.
Overall the trip was fun and I learned a lot. The whole trip was only 25 pounds to go and 10 pounds of food. Next Saturday I am going to Northern Wales with them for 16 pounds. I am really excited for Sunday though because its the ManCity vs. Liverpool Game.

If you click on the photo you can see all my photos from the trip thus far.
The Missing Towel
So I did my first load of laundry yesterday and somehow my towel is missing. I don't know if I dropped it on the way there or if someone took it out of the dryer but it was very fusterating going a day without a shower. I went to Sainsbury today and got two...so now its all good.
Yesterday RyanAir was having a big sale on a lot of the airfare and I booked two flights and I bus ride. I booked Barcelona round trip for 33 pounds, Milan round trip for 40 pounds and London round bus ride for 30 pounds. As you can see the airfare was a great steal most flights are about 100 pounds round trip here if not more.
So I am now getting really excited for travel since tomorrow is my first tourism day...Stratford-upon-Avon to see Shakespeare's town. Below is what is booked:
Saturday Sept 27: Stratford-upon-Avon
Saturday October 4: Northern Wales to see two castles
Sunday October 5: Manchester City Football Game against Liverpool
Saturday Oct 18-19: Edinburgh weekend trip
Friday October 24-26: London
Thursday October 30: Milan
Friday October 31-Nov 1: Venice
Sunday November 2-3: Florence/ Pisa
Tuesday November 4-6: Rome/ Pompeii
Saturday November 8-9: Bath/Stonhenge
Wednesday November 12-16: Barcelona
So that is what is like actually planned as far as transportation definetly have not gotten to details yet. I still need to find where to fit in Paris. I want to go to Amsterdam and Dublin soooooo bad but I'm not sure if it is going to happen because everything is REALLY expensive and I am spending a good amount on my week off in Italy.
Below are my classes:
Monday 9-10:50am Operations Management
Tuesday 9-10:50am International Marketing
Tuesday 12-12:50pm International Marketing Seminar
Tuesday 4-5:50pm Financial Markets and Institutions
Wednesday 10-11:50am Retail Marketing

Everything is an Excuse to Drink
Hey all!
So one thing that I have come to conclusion on here is that everything is definetly an excuse to drink here. Like during orientation they had wine...and they were like 'after this we will head to the pub to get something to drink!' And then on the walking tour they were like 'And don't worry because half way through the tour we will stop at a bar and get something to drink!' Its kind of getting ridiculous!!
I forgot to tell you last time about the lady who runs the exchange program here she is quite eccentric. Shes a little frantic and really disorganized (everything here is extremely disorganized...i miss US service)... and she wore all PINK on the walking tour. She had a pink top, pink shoes, pink umbrella, pink butterfly necklace, pink butterfly bracelet and a silver butterfly brouch. I kept wanting to take a picture when she wasn't looking because it was a little funny to me. The next day I saw here it was a different set of butterfly jewelry with a red polka dot theme. On the walking tour I asked where I could get nice jewelry from Manchester and she pointed out a store that she LOOOOVED...it was like all feathers, costume jewlery and butterflys! i was like cuuuute?
I am dying to go to an Indian restuarant and get some good curry or something. On the way to school there is a mile called 'Curry Mile' that is all Indian, Afghan and just Middle Eastern shops and food (you would think kind of random but actually there are a lot of people from there in the UK).
Last night I went out with the Bentley people to a bar called Footage. It was only two pounds to get in and one pound pint of beers. I only spent a couple pounds to go out that night and was really excited about it! This place was like half dancing half bar style and it was in an old high ceiling place that was really pretty. They had big screens everywhere where people text to it and it puts your text up on the wall. People would put stupid random stuff up all night like 'I love boys' and stuff. I did get really upset at these two boys though because they were so incredibly rude to me just because I was American. Like they kept asking me really uncomfortable joking-like questions about owning a gun, and how mtv says racist words about black people as a joke and just making fun in general. I tried to be polite but they wouldn't give up until I left that area...I just don't understand why some people legitally HATE americans just for the sole reason of being american. Like I would never hate anyone because of where they were born if they were friendly to me? It really is like all over the place and I guess I didn't really believe that some people really do hate me because of where I am from...its too bad.
I still don't have internet but I found out of all places McDonalds has WiFi and there is one like five or six blocks down Oxford Road. So I went last night and skyped with Aaron and it made all the difference in my mood. This little bar right across campus has WiFi too but I can only go there during the day otherwise it would be too loud.
In like twenty minutes I am going to meet up with some people from Boston, NY, Denmark and probably some other places at the Cafe Student Union to plan some trips. I met this girl yesterday, Helen, who is from NYU that is a planner like me so we organized this... it was really an answer of prayer because she told me her list of places she wanted to see ..'UK, Ireland, Paris, Barcelona, Italy' SAME AS ME!!! except I want to see Scotland and Amsterdam too.
I split a bunch of pasta on my bed yesterday and have a bunch of other laundry to do and I went looking for the launderette room in my dorm. I finally found it this morning and I went in to find two sinks and some handwash soap. I was like HELL NO! They don't use machines?! Luckily across the courtyard there is a place you can pay like three pounds for your laundry (kind of expensive but o well what can you do?)
Anyways I have been learning a lot a lot a lot here everyday and I have begun to start enjoying myself. I no longer feel like a loner (us exchange students like to talk about how we have no friends) and I am beginning to get the hang of some stuff. I can't wait for this weekend because I joined the International Society here and get to go with them to the place that Shakespeare lived for like twenty pounds. I've already been last time I was in London but the best parts about being here is when I get to be a tourist so it will be fun to go again.
Schedule for Today:
12:30 Meeting with Friends
Then go to the cash machine...I just spent my wad on a weekend trip to Edinburgh with the International Society and this Shakespeare trip.
3-4pm Some dumb lecture
4-6pm: Stand yet for the 7th day in a row in the line to get internet help
Laundry and Dinner
Fix classes
skype a little and sleep!

"Manchester is the place you all want to go to...but all your parents are frightened of you going to."
So that was a quote from the President of the Business School in Manchester. He was talking about all the crazy night life and college stuff that goes around in Manchester. It really is quite the crazy college place to be when thinking about it. I've never seen so many bars, clubs, pubs etc in one city there are multiple on each street. In the courtyard every night so far there has been club promoters yelling with speakerphones out to the freshers to get them to come out. WOW...that would definetly be a noise complaint in the US.
I really am getting better at riding the bus in Manchester. I realize that I can take any of the Stagecoach buses to my dorm or to campus that runs along Oxford Road. Now that it is getting close to school time the buses are getting much more busy and slow. Today I was the last one on the bus and had to stand in the very front. At one of the bus stops a lady came up and started screaming at us all about 'organized crime.' She was going on and on about it...I was getting kind of creeped out because she kept looking me in the eye so i just pushed my way to the top level of the bus. Riding on the top of the bus used to be really odd to me...its much more bumpy and gives you the feeling of swaying back and forward, back and forward. Everytime we turn a corner I think we are going to run into a car or a human being because I keep forgetting not only does the driver sit on the opposite side but the streets are opposite too.
I got my classes worked out for now and my student swipe card today as well. Today was a lecture on general welcome stuff which was really really boring. The lecture seats are really weird here. It's like once your in YOUR IN and you cannot leave! Its like sitting at a picnic table...I started getting a little claustrophobic! After that we went on a "campus tour" which actually turned out to be a whole Manchester city walking tour...we didn't even see any of the Manchester University campus!
I am absolutely in aww of the Manchester Town Hall...if you get a chance to look it up you should...this weekend I would love to go walk the inside. Supposedly in November people come from all over Europe to Manchester Town Hall to sell there stuff in a market street. All of Town Hall gets decorated Christmas-like with lights and all. The street market goes all the way until Christmas and they sell really nice gift stuff like chocolates and wine from all around the world! I didnt really realize that I was going to be in England close to the holidays...I am sure the decorations are beautiful. Also on the tour we saw a bunch more buildings...one of being the Manchester Eye...which is just like the London Eye only for Manchester...I had no idea this even exsisted and I would really like to go on it this weekend (its much less expensive then the Eye only five pounds).
Unfortuneatly, London is not going to work out this weekend...we waited too long and its way to expensive for train/coach tickets so it will have to happen next weekend :(

Say NO to Sleeping Pills
So last night at 1:30am I couldnt fall back asleep so I decided to take one of my sleeping pills. I had to be up at 6:30am but I figured the alarm would wake me because last time I took it it only lasted four hours. Apparently, I slept right through the alarm and didn't wake up until 1pm in the afternoon! I had missed all of my mandatory classes that morning and the campus tour. I bused into town found the MBS office and asked for help. Luckily, Louise (the woman that had been helping me all summer) recognized me from my photo and was much help.
The Business School had changed my classes all around which is very fusterating but just now I think I've got it figured out (a whole new schedule). Things really do hit the fan once you arrive!
Tonight they are sending an internet representative to my dorm to work on my internet. I sure hope they can fix it because its been really hard not to see my family, friends or Aaron.
Here in Manchester they spend a lot of time promoting night life. I didn't know that it was considered the best place to be in the UK if you are between the ages of 18 and 30. Like imagine being outside of the Hub and being handed multiple flyers on a bunch of stuff you don't care about. Its like that for clubs/bars only like 100 times worse. Its kind of annoying because when I say 'no thank you' they notice my american accent and sometimes say kind of rude things. Here they have a really big problem with litering so all those flyers end up all over the city ground. For the Big Rock Club there was a topless double decker that had people and balloons and banners all over that went back and forward on Oxford Road just yelling and promoting there club. ...just all very interesting.
Today I went to Barclays bank to see if I could figure out why all the ATMs were not working for me. They spent a lot of time working on it and said I was just going to have to call my bank back home..the number they gave me for that didnt work. But I tried one more time at an ATM and SURPRISE it decided to work!!!! So now I have cash which is nice because its only 1% if you use the ATM and 3% if you use your visa card.
Tomorrow's Schedule:
9-10am Get my BSchool Swipe Card
11am Meet with Louise about taking a non-business class
12:30-1:45 Lecture
2:00pm Tour of Campus
*This weekend I am going to try and get some people together to go to London.

Best and Worst of Times
Hey all!
So last night I went out with my new friend, Wesley, from Boston. Her school did a lot of planning and got all the Bentley students to be in the same accomodations, which is cool. We played some games at her place for an hour or so before going out. It was very interesting because we had a wide range of people in one small living room. There were two boys from Milan, one boy from Sweden, a handful of British, about 6 or 7 girls from Boston, 6 or 7 boys from Boston, a boy from NYU and me from Seattle.
After awhile we went to their dorm bar and its called the Grovel. There some British people showed me how to take a jagerbomb "the british style" which is no different then from the US! In Sweden they call a jagerbomb, a submarine. I got to know Carl, the one from Sweden, fairly well. He was very interested in my class at UW, Introduction to Scandanavia, politics and Disney movies like the Little Mermaid. He told me that he had been to Miami before during the re-election of President Bush and how there were so many protests. He said it was funny because he had never seen something like that; people were standing along the roads with signs and yelling. He jumped in with the crowds and felt like he could make a good protestor even though he didn't know the purpose. He knew all about McCain and Obama and the Iraq War. He said that everyone in Sweden hates President Bush but they really don't have a better solution. This all was very interesting to me. He said that in Sweden they have a monarchy and they love it.
We then did a little bit of bar hoping and club hoping...I really got to know the group of people I went out with pretty well and it was fun. The majority of exchange students that I have met have been really friendly. Everyone is in this together and wants to make as many friends as possible...otherwise it would get really lonely here! Its really amazing how much I've learned about different cultures in Europe so far but also just about different areas in the US. People from NY and Boston are also very different from Seattlites. I'm so thankful to have this blog because only afer 2 and a half days of being in England I feel that there is so much to talk about!
The fire alarm did go off at 4:30 am and unfortuneatly I could not fall back asleep until like 10 am. Those darn freshers think they are so funny. I heard them yelling downstairs being like "you do it...no you do it"...I was just thinking 'wait for it, wait for it' and off the alarm goes. I really hope they get tired of it. So when I should have been sleeping I put together my bulletin board in the dark (my electricity died last night).
So I missed some things I wanted to do this morning because I slept until about noon but its okay because there are repeats tomorrow. At 3pm I went to main campus to have a three hour tour of Manchester...that was really fun. My favorite thing we drove by was the Manchester Cathedral and I would really like to go visit it later this week. I forget which person built it but it was their punishment for signing the Magna Carta. A lot of the time I felt like the tour guide was a little bit hostile toward Americans. When we drove by the Manchester United facility she says, "Now Americans own Manchester United, the people of Manchester and the rest of Britian used to own it and we were doing just fine, but now the Americans are owning it." eeeeek.
The Labour Party Conference is being held in Manchester right now...so there are a lot of protests going on. It's different because police take pictures of the protests and have cameras on long sticks. Its almost like "Big Brother watching you."
Another interesting thing I learned from the tour was how Manchester likes to recycle their buildings. Many of the buildings were from the Industrial Age like Cotton mills and such and then have been recycled and are now hotels or apartments. Thats very different from the states because when some company gets bought out, or the land itself, we usually tear it down and rebuild...they don't waste the money and they are left with their old beautiful architecture. We also drove by the tallest free standing building in Europe...it was only 4o something stories...and guess what it is? the Hilton Hotel. O Paris Hilton.
Tonight there is some big army party going on for all the students. I don't understand how all my friends can go out and stay out to 3 am every night and do it over and over. I know I am going to shower, finish my bulletin board, and go to sleep!!! (got to get sleep when I can).
Tomorrow's Schedule:
9 am Welcome Lecture
11 am Tour Campus
12 pm Free Lunch at BSchool
12:30 Go to Barclays bank to get the ATMs to work!
then hopefully get the internet to work...
More words US to UK:
-roommates- flatmates

Second Day in Manchester
Hey!
So far today has gone much better than yesterday. Nothing smells like fire when I plug it in and nothing has broken...*knock on wood.* Last night I didn't go out with my new friends because I could barely keep my eyes open past 8pm. The fire alarm went off four times last night. I did find out why this happens, I guess it actually is a really big issue on UK universities. Drunken college students find it very funny to set off the alarms in the dorms multiple times per night. They say that no one every really leaves the building in the night when alarms go off because they know its someone being stupid. SO ANNOYING! what if there was an actual fire?!
This morning everyone thought they had a mandatory orientation class to go to at campus. I actually tackled the terrifying bus system all by myself. I asked the driver about my destination and he had no idea what I was talking about. So I just looked for a University of Manchester sign and got off there. The way to get around here is just to ask a million questions to just anyone who looks friendly. I found it pretty easily. Unfortuneatly, I was not supposed to be there until Monday!
It was fun to get a snapshot of the main campus. It is a lot more busy then I thought it would be. The bus system is bigger than ours, you only have to wait like five minutes in order to catch a ride anywhere. I bought a pass for 78 pounds that is unlimited, twenty four hours in Manchester. The main road of Manchester runs right in front of the main campus. It is absolutely gorgeous...I wish I could show you photos. The older part of campus is really pretty, across the Oxford Road is kind of newer campus (maybe the 50s) which is not very attractive (kind of reminded me of Gonzaga). I cannot wait to tour the campus and see all the old buildings.
I ran into a girl friend I met at the airport, Wesley, she goes to Bentley School of Business in Boston. She invited me to go out with her and some other friends dancing tonight...that will be a good opportunity to meet more exchange students.
Today seems to be going better although the internet and all ATMs are not working yet blah. Tomorrow I am going on a walking tour through a street market (Asda) and a city tour on a bus for three hours..I am very excited for both. Being in a foreign country doesn't seem as intimidating when I have an idea of my surroundings.
O and I forgot to mention last time...the style here is very emo/punk! Boys wear tight jeans and v-neck shirts with a necklace or two. Their hair is always like messy, faux hawk-ish, kind of like the guy that ran the MTV awards this year. Girls wear boots with leggings and longer sweaters...which is kind of what is just coming into style now in the States. Not as much make-up here or hair styling for the girls. I've pretty much gotten used to people always starring at me wherever I go...I don't think I look much different but they obviously think so haha!
And I forgot to tell you yesterday: Remember how the UK way of saying 'whats up' is 'are you alright?' Well I keep forgetting and people keep saying to me 'are you alright?' and I keep saying 'ya.' Everytime this happens I get a really strange look and I don't realize why until its too late. They asked whats up and I answered with ya. I thought that was kind of funny.
Some more words US to UK:
-cell phone- mobile (said like moe-bI-el)

-sophomores- second years
-juniors- third years
-seniors- fourth years

My first 24 Hours in Manchester
So I am finally in Manchester, England.
The Flight:
The flight over here was incredibly smooth. Absolutely no turbulance and I passed out for four hours because my mom made me take sleeping pills that I insisted I wouldn't need (which actually was the reason why it turned out to be a great flight). It was nine hours to London then transfered to another Terminal which was very easy; then one hour to Manchester. The student service bused us over to school and dropped us off in an alley street. I felt like an abandoned child. Absolutely no idea where the heck we were. Luckily some purple-wearing-tshirt girl comes strolling by and helped us to our dorm. This girls name was Emily and I found out that she just got back from Seattle, Washington, visiting a friend.
Manchester Appearance:
Flying over Manchest is quite beautiful. Its got rolling green hills with clusters and lines of trees. Every building is red brick and pretty short. Most of the houses look like townhouses but some are regular. Its strange not seeing any skyscrappers or modern buildings. I have not been on campus yet because it is so far away. Tomorrow I am going to tackle the bus system and hopefully find my way to main campus and recieve a campus tour from my favorite student service. My dorm is surprisingly not too bad. Its a courtyard with all exchange students and freshers (which is freshman). I have one window, a sink, desk, regular sized closet and a bed. The bar in the dorm looks like a cafeteria where they play techno music and stand around talking and drinking. The British can really drink their faces off.
My First Night:
I had dinner in my dorm. Its weird how they speak the same language as me but I still have trouble understanding. I couldn't understand any words the lady was saying so I just pointed to random stuff. Green beans is salad, carrots, and I have no idea what they call the curry. The food is going to take some getting used to I ALWAYS feel hungry. I sat with two boys and a girl, Ali, Mads and John. They were very friendly, all freshman, and eager to meet people. They freaked out when I said that the movie 10 things I hate about you was from seattle. FREAKED OUT. When hanging out in the courtyard my mentor called my name. He said he was keeping an eye out and thought he recognized me. Really crazy definetly was not expecting that. We are going to get together sometime next week I think. I met my neighbors in the dorm and one is from Boston the other from New York. We went out to a bar with a bunch of british boys called Queen of Hearts. It is an old church made into a bar. They play a game called "save the queen" where if they drop a coin into your drink you have to drink alllll of it or else the queen will drown. It was fun and I met a lot of people but I only stayed an hour. That night the fire alarm went off twice. When I finally got back to bed the dorm next to us went off...I have a feeling is a prank that is pulled on all freshers.
The First Day:
I don't really want to get into much of my day because its been bullcrap. Everything that could possibly go wrong went wrong. My converters broke my lap top and blow dryer. Apparently people don't use blow dryers here so you have to go into town to get them. I bought a straightener because when I plugged mine in the room smelt like fire. Got my lap top fixed for 30 pounds, got a phone, internet took about 4 hours this morning and still isnt working in my room. Blah blah blah it just goes on. It will definetly get better when I get settled and get the hang of things.
Tonight:
The Bop is going on in the dorm bar tonight. I might check it out but I am so tired I really just want to sleep.
Words I've Learned US to UK:
-Whats Up/ How are you? -Are you alright?
-Thanks -Cheers
-Green Beans- Salad
-Pants -Trousers
-Cider -Cider (took me ten minutes to realize he was actually saying cider...really embarrassing)
I cant really remember the others. I will add then later.
Anyways, pray that Manchester will get easier for me!
